Tangata Pasifika

Today Tangata Pacifika came to our class. It is a T.V programme on channel 1 and out of all the classes in my school they chose ours.

Having Tangata Pasifika come into our class it is great to show off our talents in class.

The presenters names are Osone and Okesene. They interviewed some of the students and asked them what do they think about Christmas.

Well they were in our class we were making Christmas tags for our presents to give to our families then we had to create something related to Christmas with dou.

It has been a great time having them in our. We hope another television programme comes into our class.

Thinking Skills!

This morning room 22 did something different. We did some logical and creative things to solve a problem. To do these things you had to be creative and logical.

We had to get in groups of threes. My Problem solving question was how to look after a wounded seagull. My objects were, cellotape, jandal, book, bucket and umbrella. Apparently our problem wasn't solved and we got a fail.

Next time we do this I am going to think harder and better.

Yeah Woohooo !!!! I shouted in my room. All blacks had just won the Rugby World Cup 2011. France did a great job but All Blacks did better. That was a relief. This Proves that rugby is our sport and we are the champions.

R.W.C Fireworks In Town

"POOF CRACK!" the fireworks exploded above my head. I was really excited and happy that it was the opening of the Rugby World Cup. It was fascinating and was packed. The firecrackers were beautiful by the looks of different colours and hearing the loud cracks in the sky. But the bad thing was that I had to wait until the train came. It didn't come until another 5 hours or so. I was really angry because I never got to watch the 1st game which was All Blacks versus Tonga. But I still had fun.

!Our Taonga Time!

Every Friday we have a unique time called Taonga time. Taonga means treasure in Maori.
There are 7 types of activities like ICT, art, music, team building, p.e, science and Kapa Haka. All the year 7 and 8 students go to different activities.

I go to Kapa Haka but we don’t swap around with the other groups because it is a time for us to practise. In Kapa Haka we sing special Maori songs and do Haka’s. A Haka is a type of dance where we have to look fierce and dance our hearts out and stomp our feet and slap our chest until the end of the Haka. After the Haka you can feel abit soar on your chest but sometimes feels really good.

I'm so glad to be in the kapa haka group because I like to learn new songs and haka’s and like to go hard out.
